PB Madness

So, as I read all the other blogs, I see this wordless Wednesday stuff... I'm way to new to this to not have words!  I'll settle somewhere in the middle and describe my latest adventure through pictures. Remember last blog when I told you I wasn't very happy that mom left me for work?  Well... I sure wasn't!  I decided to get up on the counter and steal her peanut butter and have myself a mid-day snack.

I brought my snack to the couch and opened the jar

Mom tricked me though, because there wasn't very much peanut butter left...

But don't you worry, I got every last lick!

Man... I ate too much

Hm... the peanut butter jar is still on the couch with teeth marks in it.  Mom will know!  What am I going to do about this...
Better start practicing my "shocked" face... How's this?
"Woah, Mom! How'd that get there?!"

I wasn't sure if that was going to work, so I decided to put the jar on the coffee table... maybe she'd think she just left it there on accident.  But, I'll have my "shocked" face ready, just in case!

I think my plan worked.  Mom and dad kept looking at the jar and saying "are you serious?"  Got them with the shocked face.  They giggled a lot.  Then mom and I went for a walk with Jen and Piper.  I FINALLY had a date with JUST Piper & no Radar... it was great.  Isn't she a purdy thang?

Still workin' my magic on her...

Happy Wednesday Everybody!!!!!!!  Tonight is Bark at the Park and I get to go to a baseball game!  WAHOO!

Just a boring Tuesday...

Hey... are you lookin' at my butt?

Well, last night was another night at Grandpa Jack's.  I had to say goodbye to dad's family that was in town.  They were really cool, and although I only knew them for 2 days, I really liked them!  And I think they liked me, too!!!  I hope they come back to visit again soon.  It rained on the way home, and I was really bummed that dad had the t-tops in and the windows up... So I took a much needed nap in the back seat on the way home.
Snooze Cruise!

I wasn't very happy when mom left for work this morning.  I'm getting pretty tired of her and dad leaving me for this work thing.  Well, back to brainstorming how to keep them home... later dudes & dudettes!

Monday, Monday...

I guess it's Monday already!  Sorry I didn't get a chance to update Friday night after daycare.  Mom and I went on a walk with Jen, Piper and Radar so I was super tired after that AND daycare!  It was a busy day.  I spent the rest of the night on the couch, then moved and got in bed with mom and dad.

ZzzZzzzZzzzZzzzz
When mom picked me up at daycare, she told the guy my name and he said I was the "doofiest" dog he's ever met in his life.  He said that I kept him laughing and I was very goofy.  Mom said "Yep, that's my dog" and out I came super happy.

Saturday morning mom and I had to go get some more dog food at the pet store, so I got to tag along.  We stopped to visit all of my favorite people at the Homeward Bound clinic!  Then on the way in, I passed a very stunning lady dog... she looked just like ME!  Even the lady in the store thought we were the same dog, silly lady... I was taller and had handsome features, not the pretty lady like features of the twin doggie girl!  So I was flirting with the worker girls when my twin doggie came back in the store!  This time we got to sniff each other out and say hello.  Mom was talking to her pawrents and said my name.  Her dad said "Is that Corbin from FridayPuppy.com?"  She said that was me!  Apparently, I was up for votins on a local blog site called http://www.fridaypuppy.com/ and this guy recognized me!  I'm a famous pup around my area!  I wasn't THE FridayPuppy, though.  I got beat out by some other cute pups.  Next time I'm going to win though!  You'd all vote for me, right?

One Super Cute Pup, comin' right up!

After the pet store, I came home to see that Dad took the firebird out and it was all packed up!  But mom said I couldn't go this time and that Miss Anne would be over to spend the night with me.  I was pretty bummed out because I love going to the lake!  But mom left me with lots of treats and a KONG stuffed with peanut butter and lots of yummy stuffs.  I guess it's okay that I sat this weekend out.  Plus, I was way tired from my busy Friday!  I don't know if I would have had the energy to swim.  So I spent the night hanging out with Anne and I surely won her over.  We got to snuggle and everything.  I love to snuggle.

So Sunday mom and dad came home and I made sure the house was decorated for them when they arrived!  I took the tissues that were on the counter and spread them all over the living room.  I think mom really liked it.  Too bad she didn't take a picture.  We hung out at the house for a little while and then mom took out my "Grandparent" bag!  This meant I was either going to see Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Dave or we were going to Grandpa Jack and Nancy's!  Either way, I was so excited!  Loaded up my bag with lots of toys and goodies and my water dish and off we went in the firebird!

They see me ridin'... they hatin'

I got to see Uncle Bobby's new car, but he would't let me ride in it.  Dad, Uncle Bobby and Grandpa Jack lined their cars together out front.  It was a nice lookin' lawn!  Especially when I was on it too!

Dad's '89 firebird, Grandpa Jack's '03 firebird & Uncle Bobby's '05 Corvette

One day I'll wiggle my way into all of them!  I got to hangout with everyone and of course, got lots of table scraps when mom wasn't lookin'.  I got to show off with all of my cool tricks, most importantly, high five!  But I got lots of treats for just smiling at everyone.  Grandpa Jack says I give out free goofy looks and always says I look like Scooby Doo.

I think I just look HANDSOME. Scooby Doo or not!

After my awesome time at Grandpa Jacks, we went for ice cream!  YUM!  I sure do love ice cream!  Mom always makes sure to get me a cone, and I enjoy every lick!

Tastes so good when it hits your lips!

I even get a dog bone at the end of it!  Which I save for last and usually don't eat.  I don't like the cheap treats ;-)

On the way home, I try to learn how to drive... someday, dad will let me drive the firebird, so I have to prepare.  I'm only 1 years old, so I have some time to get the basic facts down.  Dad's pretty patient about my learnins.

Step 1: Look straight a head

Step 2: Paws on the pedals

Step 3: Front paws on the wheel.

I got this!!!  Stay tuned... next time, I'm heading out behind the wheel!  Gotta find me a pair of them sunglasses... that seem to be the only thing I'm missing!  Finally we arrived home and I was tuckered out.

Can. Hardly. Keep. My. Eyes. Open.

I watched some of the Yankee game, and to bed I went!  Hope you all had a fun weekend too!  Friday is almost here!  Right?  I hope so...

Doggie Daycare

So, a few months ago my mom talked to me about doggie daycare.  Sounded kind of silly to me and I didn't really love the fact that I was going to be away from home all day.  Mom said I didn't have a choice and I was going to try it.  Wow was I wrong about everything I thought!  Doggie Daycare was AWESOME!  There were TONS of other dogs and they all loved to play, just like me!  So I fell in love with daycare.  Mom usually takes me every Wednesday.  So this week Wednesday came and Wednesday went and no daycare.  I figured I lost track of the days, but by the time I woke up this morning, I knew it was way past daycare day.  Then today, mom gets up early with dad, takes me out, feeds me breakfast  and gets ready for work.  I'm working on my protest to convince mom that she MUST take me to daycare...

How can she say no?

Well, I begged and begged and begged and she just continued to get ready like she would any normal day.  Then... FINALLY... She picks up my collar!  Now, this means she's letting me outside again - which doesn't usually happen - OR she's taking me to daycare!  Then comes the leash!  I'M GOING TO DAYCARE!!!!!!!!!  I was so excited I was making all sorts of funny noises and was jumping everywhere because I just didn't know how to contain myself!  I was all set and ready to go and sitting at the door waiting.  And waiting.  And waiting.  Mom thought it was funny, but I most certainly did not.  It's not MY fault that she forgot her phone in the bedroom.  So finally she's ready to go, and in the car we go.

Are we there yet?

I get so excited in the car on the way there.  I just don't know what to do with myself, so I hop and jump and sometimes mom thinks the car is going to take off because my tail goes around and circles like a helicopter!  Then we got stopped at the dredded traffic light... This light is just horrible.  It lasts forever and I can see daycare!  It's SO close!!!!  That's when I start getting super excited.

Can I just get out and run there mom?  I see it!  I see it!!!

Finally we get there and I get to see my furgirlfriend.  She LOVES me and as soon as I step foot through the door she says "Oh, CORBIN!"  I get that greeting a lot... everyone loves me.  Except, sometimes when mom and dad say "Oh Corbin!" it usually means I ate the couch or something else I shouldn't have been eating.

Maybe I'll post again later, if I'm not too tired from daycare.

Really... I'm not dirty.

I totally don't understand the concept of a bath.  Why must you bathe me???  I clean myself!  Well.. the parts that count anyway.  Usually I love to go in the bathroom...  enjoy going through the garbage, sticking my head in the shower when moms in there, bothering dad while he shaves... I really do enjoy the bathroom.  Just not the "going in the tub" part.  Nope.  Don't like that part.  And I always know when it's time for a bath.  Mom has to drag me in there and close the door... I try to stay as far away from the tub as physiclly possible.

Now, I know if I stare at the door knob, dad will come save me...

Did you tell him not to come save me?  I heard you.  That's cheating, mom.

Please don't make me do this... please.  I don't think I'm going to win this battle.

Son of a cat.  I hate you right now, mom.  This is just inhumane.

Well, I'm squeeky clean.  And I smell like coconuts.  I'm not speaking to mom for the rest of the day.  There was no reason I needed a bath.  This is why my dad is the coolest person ever.  He'd never give me a bath or make me take my medicine when I'm sick or trim my nails or brush my teeth.  He just plays with me and gives me treats.  Dad is where it's at.  I'm going to get protected from him for the rest of the night.

Safe.

After my bath, Dad took me outside to play while I dried off.  Then mom came out and I didn't want to play anymore.  So, I sulked around the yard and tried to stay very far away from her... then dad threw the ball again and I forgot all about my bath.

What?  I swear I didn't just take a big bite out of the lawn... I don't know why you'd think that!

So, now I'm back to causing trouble and doing all my normal stuff... which will probably result in another bath at some point.  Maybe I'll eat the tub... then she can't give me a bath!  Food for though...

Summer

Holy puppies!  It's AUGUST already!  Mom said that means summer is almost over.  I guess since I'm new to this blog thing, I should tell you a little bit about how my summer has gone.  One word: GREAT!

Furdad takes me on really long car rides in the firebird - which I LOVE!  Usually we head up to the boat.
Don't we look like a couple of studs?
Normally I don't like to stick my nose out of the windows, but who can resist in this car?  Dad took a picture of me while we were cruising...

We look super cool.

Anyway, like I was saying... there's a boat that involves an awesome car ride.  Once we get there, mom makes sure I have my life jacket on.  Man, who could resist me in that jacket?
Every girls crazy for a sharp dressed man...
I'm locked, loaded and READY to go!  Mom and dad have taken me to a few places on the lake.  My favorite, by far, is Log Bay!  I get to rest in my float and enjoy the weather and all of my friends, Grampa Jack, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Andrea.  And of course my Aunt Miss. Katie.  Sometimes she stays with me when mom and dad go up to the lake without me... then we go up and spend the day there!

I also get to go in the shallow waters and play ball.  I really enjoy splashing and jumping in the water!  Everyone always comments on how silly I look, especially when the top of my back and my head are out of the water and I try to shake myself dry!  I can also be quite naughty, and when I can reach with all 4 paws, I squat and take a leak.  Hey, everyone does it, right?  Shhh...just don't tell any of the females.

I like to sunbathe to dry off and take a break... I also have to greet everyone that walks by.  Sometimes people get scared and ask mom if I'm nice.  Well, duh.  Of COURSE I'm nice.  I just want to lick your face if you'll let me...

Log Bay can be a long boat ride, so sometimes we just go to a near by bay.  Although, this isn't as exciting as Log Bay, it's rather relaxing.  Sometimes I make it exciting... like, the first time we anchored at this bay.  I was hanging out on the back of the boat when dad jumped in the lake.  Well, not really sure of what that entailed, I followed him!  Let me tell you... it was pretty scary.  That's one BIG and DEEP water dish!  I sunk for a few seconds while my mom's heart was beating out of her chest.  Finally dad came over to rescue me and help me swim towards the boat.  I jumped in a few times after that before I figured out it was pretty fun.  I also realized that I could make it onto Grampa Jack's boat.  This ensured me many treats and lots of lovin's.

One of my FAVORITE parts of the lake is the beer.  Yep, beer.  But don't worry.  Mom makes sure I don't drink it... only when I beat her to it when it spills... and sometimes when dad's not paying attention and just opened a new can, I drink the little that spills over on the top of the can.  I more so just like to relax with it near by.
I'm usually pretty tired after my lake days.  I snooze out on the car rides home.  Usually mom has to drag me out of bed the next morning, or off the couch if I don't make it to bed...

I'm sure I'll have some more stories before summer ends!  So you better stay tuned.

Dog Days...

This is my favorite spot... I love to sit on the couch and look out the window.  Someone has to keep an eye on the neighborhood!

There's always something going on around here... people walking with their dogs, with their kids, by themselves, people biking, people driving... sometimes there are construction workers or pavers.  Always something going on.  Although, my favorite things to watch are the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and the bunny.  Yes, just one bunny.  The only bunny with enough confidence to come into my yard.  This bunny isn't around every day, but when it is, I stare at it.  And when it's not, I think about starring at it.  Some would say I'm obsessed with the bunny.... maybe.

Today, however, I'm not looking out the window while mom and dad are at work.  I'm sitting in my crate.  The bunny hasn't been around lately, so I haven't had much reason to look at out the window.  See that couch I'm sitting on?  I've eaten half of it... along with some ice cube trays, all moms scrapbooking stuff, magazines, newspapers, pictures, books and a zucchini.  Mom and Dad weren't very happy.  I don't mind my crate though.  Just means I'll have MORE energy to play with dad when he gets home!  We play every night.  He usually brings home a new ball for me, because I've already destroyed the one from the previous day.  The newest ball he brought home was a softball.  I could barely fit it in my mouth!  But that didn't stop me... that was a LOT of fun to play with!  I have a lot of broken balls in the back yard that I still like to play with.  I have two deflated basketballs and lots of soccer balls and baseballs.  Did you know that inside a baseball is a cork?  I can get them apart in about 5 minutes.  I really enjoy playing!

Most nights when mom gets home, we go for walks around the neighborhood.  Usually my friend Piper joins us.  Oh, and her brother Radar.  We're fine while we walk, but he doesn't like when I play with his toys.  Piper is super cute though... I have a little crush on her.  That might be another reason why Radar isn't too fond of me!  Sometimes we meet them at the Crossings and walk around there.  Usually I get to see my favorite person ever there...... Heather, of course!  And she brings my bff, Emmett.  We LOVE to walk together, mostly because we got lots of play breaks where we can wrestle and play in the pond.  I love to go for walks and meet new people.  Mom says Emmett and I are traing for the Canine Good Citizen's test.  I'm not sure what that means, all I know is it involves me behaving - which I normally do!  But I do get super excited when people come over to pet me.  I like to lick their faces and wiggle my butt.  Sometimes I even sing if I get really excited.  That usually happens when I go to clinics for visits... I get so excited to see all my favorite people, I just can't contain myself and I sing for them.  Just an added bonus to petting me.

I'll leave you today with a picture of me and Emmett... aren't we a handsome match?  When I was smaller, you could hardly tell us apart!  Even now, when we get wrestling, it's hard to tell who is who!
