This is not such a wordless Wednesday (Plus, Dad hasn't fixed the camera cord yet, so no Christmas pictures!)... My momma brought it to my attention that Mr. Present called the Eagles owner and thanked him for hiring Michael Vick. Click Here for the link. Here's what I have to say... (it's really from momma and me... mostly the momma)
Dear Mr. President,
Please explain to me why you believe that Jeffrey Lurie deserves a "Congratulations" for hiring Michael Vick. I would LOVE to know your whole thought process on this entire conversation. Instead of giving thanks for allowing that piece of trash a second chance at fame, you should be showing your gratitude to those rescues who volunteered their time, their own money, those who spent countless hours rehabilitating those dogs that HE ruined. You should be congratulating those people who fought to keep these dogs alive, who fought to give those DOGS a second chance. Being in the NFL is a privilege... it should be reserved for people who are positive role models for the children watching them. Michael Vick knew what he was doing to those dogs was wrong... he knew, and he continued to do it. He's only sorry that he got caught. How would you feel, Mr. President, if Michael Vick took YOUR dog, grabbed it by the ankles and slammed its body into the ground over and over until it gave up and died? Then threw it into a cold hole in the ground and forgot about it. Would you be calling someone and thanking them for giving him a second chance, then? Doubtful. Mr. President, take a few hours out of your busy schedule (you had enough free time to call the coach of the Eagles, you should have enough free time to read) and read the book "The Lost Dogs." Read their story... read the real things that happened to them, the awful life they were forced to live and the difficult time they had realizing there was a better life out there for them. Read about the people who helped these dogs. Read about the awful person Michael Vick is.
The thankful part of this story is that those dogs were given a second chance. Those innocent dogs were shown that life isn't as horrible as it once was for them. They didn't choose to be abused by Michael Vick and his associates, they were there with no escape, without knowing that a better life existed. Michael Vick made the choice, he chose over and over again to abuse those dogs. To force them to tear the flesh off of other dogs. He chose to brutally kill them when they didn't fight.
The real story here isn't about Michael Vick. It's about the dogs. It's about the uphill battle they had to fight. It's about the volunteers who gave their time to help them. It's about using these dogs to change the minds of many about the breed people are so scared of. It's showing people that even when raised in the God awful circumstances, these dogs are still wonderful. They're not vicious, they're not blood hungry... they're dogs. Happy, loving, caring dogs. And shame on you, Mr. President, for thanking Mr. Lurie. Shame on you for giving Michael Vick any more positive attention than he deserves. Shame on you for losing light of the dogs that had to suffer because of him.
Sincerly,
An animal lover, Jenn... and her pitbull, Corbin
We'll be back to our regularly scheduled Corbin Program tomorrow :o)

Dear Santa...
Can I keep her??? |
So Mr. Santa Paws... here's my Christmas list, it may seem like a lot, but it would mean the world to me (In no specific order):
- A wonderful home for Bethany where she will feel safe and continue her amazing progress towards becoming a DOG. (OR, you can get mom and dad to adopt her, but then we'll need a bigger house so we can continue to foster... and I may need a new dad if that happens BOL! {kidding dad!})
- Continued health for my little Christopher
- Harley to come home and get rid of the sickies he has
- Some bully sticks
- A wonderful new year to all my family and bloggin' furiends!
- And, some toys with squeekies in them!
Love,
Corbin
I hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! |

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Please Read
My Uncle Harley is very sick. Grandma Lynda took him to the vet a few days ago bc he wasn't feeling well and his blood work came back abnormal. So Grandma Lynda had to bring him back to the vet and he has to stay there. They think he has Pancreatitis. If so, this will be his 4th time with it. Please keep your paws crossed for Uncle Harley...
You may be little, but you're a strong pug!!! |
Feel better Uncle Harley!!! Hopefully Aunt Maggie will work some of her magic up in Heaven. |
Adventures of C&E, Episode 1
Emmett and I have LOTS of adventures. Recently we went to a Holiday Open house and we went to see SANTA!!! The pictures pretty much explain themselves, so this is kind of a wordless Wednesday... I'm going to say a few things here and there to guide you along!
Fast forward a week -TIME TRAVEL!!!!!
Waaaa!!! DUDE!!! Let's play in the back seat! |
Hey Heather... where are we going? Can I eat that thing in your ear? |
Emmett... sit there and look pretty so I can chew something up... |
WTF is that???? Huh? THAT'S what Sandy Paws uses to help him deliver MY presents? Ma, how's that going to fit on our house? |
Ohhh, Heather stuck a toy in my bag!!! |
HEY! Why'd you throw it?! |
Bwaaaaaaaa it's alive!!!!!!! |
Hm, mom didn't take a picture of my destroyed Penguin |
Where to now, mom? |
Looks like we're heading to Heathers! |
Emmett and I are back in Heather's car!!! Em, where do you think we're going THIS time? |
Shhh, I have a secret for you.... |
Hey Dude, who are you? |
Elroy, Eh? Nice to meet you. You can stop licking my face now... You're cool and all, but I don't swing that way |
Okay, Dude... my crew is leaving... Gotta go! |
This dude was dressed up as Sandy Paws... I tried to eat his beard. We got our picture taken bc the money went to the Rotty Rescue! But they chopped off half of my face... |
So we went to see the REAL SANDY PAWS!!!!!!!! Or Santa Clause as the little kiddies called him.
The real Sandy Paws was at a mall, and it wasn't even dog day, but Santa said that he loved dogs and it was okay with him! We loved him too! And we were super well behaved, even in a mall with a band playing and people and kiddies everywhere!
On a side note of the C&E Adventures.... Bethany started playing with me INSIDE the house this morning! The momma was all teary and took some pictures, but Bethany ate momma's cord that puts the pictures on the computer. Whoops... guess I wasn't watching her for a second! But Mom wasn't mad... after all, it was HER fault for leaving it on the couch. She also started wagging her tail inside last night. Mom and Dad are so happy with her improvements. Although, she was NOT happy with me this morning when I wouldn't get out of her crate. I wanted to stay in there with her ALL day, but mom said no... and I had to go into my crate. But, I didn't give up without a fight. I made the momma crawl into the crate and drag me out - hehehehe. She'll forget about it by the time she gets home.
Later dudes!
We were SUPER good so he's sure to bring us really great things!!!! |
That was fun!!!!!! |
Now... LET'S PLAY!!!!!!!! |
Throw the ball, MOM! |
I almost ran right out of the frame! |
Hehe, see Bethany trying to keep up???? She blends in with the snow! |
Thanks, Mom!!! This sure was a fun day! |

Back on track!
I have so much to talk about... so I hope you have some left over hot cocco from yesterday's post!
First, I forgot to give everyone an update on Christopher yesterday. Christopher came home on Saturday and has been doing very well. The swelling has gone down a lot and he's smiling and giggling again. He's still in pain, but he's handling it well. The little trooper he is!!!! He doesn't go back to the doctor until early January... so he has to stay home until then. We're all just so happy that he's recovering so well!
News #2: I won a contest!!!!!!!! I entered the contest over at Rudy's blog! Here was my winning Christmas poem:
I broke a toy that Emmett had,
Somebody snitched on me.
I brought dirt into Mommy’s bed,
Somebody snitched on me.
I drooled my water on Daddy’s floor
Somebody snitched on me.
I chewed at the rug until it tore,
Somebody snitched on me…
I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
Sandy Paws thinks I’ve been bad.
I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
And this makes me very sad.
I played the bitey on foster sister,
Somebody snitched on me.
I let a growl out at next door Mister
Somebody snitched on me.
I knocked over Mommy’s plants,
Went in the bedroom and ate her pants,
Dug up the yard to find some ants,
Somebody snitched on me.
I’m getting nothing for Christmas
Sandy Paws thinks I’ve been bad.
I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
And this makes me very sad.
So next year I’ll be good, whatever I do,
Because if I’m not, my toys will be few,
Sandy Paws won’t even bring me two!
And, again, I’ll get nothing for Christmas!
I can't wait to get my prize!!! So cool that I won! A big THANK YOU to Rudy for having the contest! It was WAY fun and so cool to read everyone elses entries!
News #3: Khyra picked my name in Sally's gift exchange! So she dedicated a transport in my name! SO cool! Thank you SO much Khyra!!! This was a very awesome gift! You can check out her blog post on the doggies they transported! There were some Brittney Spaniels - which, was my moms first dog! How cool!!! And there were some pitty's!!! Also very cool! And what's even cooler??? The transport was done on the same day I landed my paws in my home last year! Helping out in transports like this are so important to Mom and the rescue! That's how my News #4 got to me! Speaking of which...
News #4!!!!! I got a new foster sister!!! Her name is Bethany and she's a 6 month old Yellow Lab mix (maybe with some kind of cattle dog or border collie -her brothers looked very border collie, so who knows!)
Here she is!
Bethany came up to us on a transport just like the one Khyra's mom did. It's people like her who volunteer their time and help this great dogs out of the high kill shelters and up to the safetly of a rescue! Bethany's sister, Avery, was adopted on Saturday. She adjusted much better than Bethany has, but we know Bethany will come around! She's a great dog to have and I overheard mom and dad talking about keeping her... HEHE! BUT! There's a great vet lady interested in her, and I know my mom will be very happy if she goes to that home! So, fingers crossed that it works out! Because we like fostering... and if we kept Bethany, that would mean THREE dogs when we get a foster!!!! hehe! Although we probably won't keep her forever, mom is going to be very careful with Bethany's adoptors, so if things don't work out with the vet lady, we might have her for a while. Which is okay by me!!!
Since this post was long enough... I'll tell you about my recent adventures with Emmett tomorrow!
Later, dudes!
I'll take hot cocco donations, please. |

Isn't she beautiful! |
Bethany is very scared. She was born in a shelter in TN and lived there until she came to NY and into Homeward Bound's Rescue! That's when we got her. She's so skiddish and very afraid of doors. But, she likes to follow me around, so she's learning a lot about the good life she'll have from now on.
Come on, kid... I'll show ya how it's done! |
Sometimes we have to pose for pictures... you'll get the hang of it |
She'll stop soon.... |
You doing okay???? |
Here... I'll cover you up so you stay warm |

365 Days of Corbin...
Well, actually 366 because one year ago yesterday was the first day that I stepped paws into MY house. Most of you know my story, so I'm going to give a quick version for those who don't, then I'm going to celebrate by showing pictures of my 365 days of heaven new life. You better grab a nice cup of hot cocco and some cheeto's for this one...
I'm going to tell my story a little different this time... this is the story my momma tells me about how I came into her life. So, her and dad bought a house in June of last year... they spent a few months fixing it up before moving in in October. Mom knew it was going to be very hard for her to not have a dog because she grew up always having an animal (or 2... or 3, even 4!). Well, dad had never had an animal, of any kind! So mom wasn't sure how he'd react to having a dog. They planned on waiting a few months before trying it, but mom couldn't take it and started contacting rescue groups. She decided on fostering at first, because that would mean they would be able to try things out and didn't have to keep the dog if it didnt work out. So mom saw a really cute, cuddly border collie mix pup that was at Homeward Bound, she knew she didn't want a puppy, but he was just so cute, he drew her to that rescue. And because that's what she wanted... a border collie mix (HAHAHA). She talked to a few people and decided to stop by their clinic the following Saturday to check things out and get some more information. The lady assured my mom that they wouldn't be needing foster homes until mid-January when they were expecting a transport.
So, the night before the clinic, mom and dad had some friends over and they had lots of beer and cheeto's (true story). Mom woke up late and made everyone breakfast then realized that it was 12:45 and the Homeward Bound clinic ended at 1pm. So she hurried up and ran out of the house and made it to clinic 5 minutes before they were closing. Mom talked to the nice lady who she spoke to on the phone and she went over everything a foster parent did... then this brown goofy dog(ME!) ran up to mom. He was just so cute and good looking, mom just had to pet him. His foster mom, Heather, introduced herself and the brown blobby, wiggly dog next to her. She said that along with him, she had another pitty puppy at home who needed hip surgery (EMMETT!). She said that brown goofy crazy dog was going to be boarded at the pet lodge for Christmas and for her other puppy's surgery. So mom said, well okay... he's super cute and it's just a foster. So she agreed and Heather put crazy brown nutcase dog in the car and followed mom home. On the way, mom called dad and asked if he was still home, he said he was and asked why. And mom said "Well.... Corbin is coming over and I want you to meet him." Dad was NOT very happy with the news he just heard from mom and said "WHAT?! You SAID you were NOT coming home with a DOG today!!!" And mom said "I know, I know, BUT he'll be put in the pet lodge for Christmas AND the other foster that his foster mom has needs to have surgery on his hip, so he'll be in the pet lodge for his recovery! We can't let him be alone for Christmas..." So dad said "UGH! Ok... what kind of dog is he, how big and how old?" And mom said "uhhh... well... he's a pit mix... and he's 6 months... and he's about 45 lbs" then dad said "pit... pit as in pit BULL?" and mom said yes... so dad said "JENN!!!!!!!! YOU SAID YOU DIDN'T WANT A PIT BULL!!! AND you said you DIDN'T want a PUPPY! AND you said you wanted a SMALLER dog!!!!" So mom said "I know, I know, I know, but WAIT until you meet him! He's very handsome, so we won't have him for long... he's JUST a foster dog!" So dad got angry and said OK and hung up the phone... so mom arrived home and Heather was right behind her... So, brown crazy goofy wack dog comes in the house. He was running round like a lunatic... down the hall way, on the bed, on the couch, onto the other couch... and he just kept going. Heather was telling mom that he didn't go on the furniture... and as she said that, he was in mid leap onto the couch! He didn't stop running through the house and mom started thinking "Oh. My. God. What did I get myself into." So Heather finally left to go get the rest of his stuff.... as soon as she left, he did a final leap onto the couch, curled into a ball and fell asleep. Mom joined him on the couch and cuddled with him... that's when she knew that this wasn't such a bad thing and that he just needed some time to adjust. Dad left to run some errends and mom spent a lot of time with her new foster.
Dad warmed up really quickly -how could he not?! Mom says after she got to know me, she knew I knew I was HOME that day. When I go to new places, I don't settle down, I'm so excited I run around everywhere and only settle and relax at home. That day when I arrived home, I settled so quickly and I really know that this was my place.
Now that the boring stuff is out of the way... here are some pictures from my first year in my furever home!

If you haven't figured it out already... Mom's new foster was ME!!!!!!!!!!!! Corbin! |
Now that the boring stuff is out of the way... here are some pictures from my first year in my furever home!
This was one of my first nights home. I used to be able to curl up on mom's stomach and that's how we'd watch TV (Mom says to please excuse the awful picture of her) |
These were my Christmas presents! Mom said Santa didn't go all out because I was just a foster at the time and he wasn't sure how long I'd be staying. Silly Santa. |
We lost heat a few times, so mom kept me warm with one of her sweatshirts. |
I could always make her laugh! |
I gave mom lots of kisses to show how much I love her. |
I really enjoyed taking over their bed. |
And I learned how much I didn't like mom when she gave me a bath! |
I protected my new family as best as I could and always kept a watch out! |
Didn't take long to learn how comfy dads legs were! |
I took lots of naps. |
I helped mom with 5 fosters, this is Belle. |
This is LeeLou -now known as Layla |
This is Abby... she was so beautiful! She liked to give me kisses |
I learned how to be a boatin' dog |
And I loved to give everyone kisses! This is my Aunt Miss. Katie! |
I even gave kisses to people I didn't know! |
I celebrated my first birthday! |
And totally showed that duck who was boss! |
I learned how to swim! |
And really enjoyed swimming myself, hehe! |
I took more naps... |
Enjoyed ice cream! |
Gave mom major guilt trips when she did homework |
I really enjoyed rides in the firebird |
Made lots of friends |
I popped lots of balls |
Some people don't think animals can show gratitude or feel greatful. Apparently, they've never met me. I'm grateful everyday for the second chance I got at life.
Thank you, Mom & Dad for giving me the best 365 days I could have ever asked for! Love, Corbin |
I also got a new foster sister last night, and I won a contest that I have to tell you about! And I have to tell you about the transport Khyra did for me! And a whole bunch of other stuff that I did to celebrate my 365 days of love. I'll tell ya about it tomorrow!
ps.
FOSTER DOG!!! HAHAHAHAHA... Yea, right! |
Later Dudes!
