Pitty Post Day!

I'm so excited that today is finally the day!  It's Blogville Pitty Post Day!  I can't wait to get around and visit everyone who joined me in celebrating all that is great about Pit Bulls!
The look of a very grateful Corbin
Now, this whole day started when I did a post a few months ago called "You Call Me a Pit Bull Like it's a Bad Thing" and my pal, Pip the PipBull, had this great idea to do a blogwide pitty awareness day.  I'm so glad everything came together and I can't image a better way to celebrate my birthday than to raise awareness for my breed.  It means the world to me that all of you are joining in and this is honestly the best birthday present a Corbin could ever ask for!
What to write, what to write...?
Go figure, I had a little bit of writers block while thinking about what I'd post about today.  Do I list off all the good things I've done?  Maybe a story about someone who's mind I've changed?  Something about my past pitty foster siblings?  Maybe just something simple... a photo and a sentance about being awesome?  Well, I couldn't decide and I couldn't find the words to say.  I was stuck.
Bring me the computer, I've got it.
Well, my inspiration came to me on Saturday in the form of two stunning Pit Bulls.

Please meet Oakley and Eva... my TWO new foster siblings.
Oakley, Me (Corbin), and Eva
Now, usually I only get one foster sibling at a time, and since my ouchies, the momma has limited my foster siblingness.  But, a few weekends ago I had a visitor and I was so happy to have another pooch around, the momma said I could have a foster sibling.  Well, how about TWO foster siblings just in time for Pitty Post Day?!  Awesomeness.  Let me tell you a bit about each of them.

Face to melt the hardest of hearts!
This is Oakley... although, the momma keeps calling him Brutus because he sure is a Brute!  Oakley came from a high kill shelter in Kentucky and he's about 7 months old.  I must admit, he's super handsome.  The shelter said he was turned in because his family moved into an apartment that didn't allow large dogs, so he and his Great Dane sister had to go.  Of course the momma fell in love with him when she saw his photo, but man did her heart skip a beat when she met him in person on Saturday when he arrived!

Top notch handsome good looks.
Oakley was one of the most well behaved dogs that the momma has ever seen walk into the rescue.  He was friendly with all the other dogs and even ran away from the Chihuahua mix who started biting after him!  He loved people and even sat down to be pet -what a charmer!  The momma watched as many people walked right past this wonderful dog without even giving him a second glance.  This guy is the total package!  But, for the people that did stop to meet him, he won them all over!  He's a big time snuggler and climbed right into laps and gave out all of his love.  What a dude.
COWABUNGA!!!!
Now, usually I don't get dude fosters.  I like my ladies.  But I've gotta say... this dude is A-OK in my books!

Now, onto Miss. Eva.
Eva is a super sweet little girl.  She's only about 45lbs and she's about 4 years old.  Poor Eva... her family lost their jobs and their house and had to move in with family where the pooches couldn't go.  Somehow, their plea email reached the momma's email box and her heart melted.  The momma agreed to help out this family and take in Eva and her brother Duke.  So, Eva came to me a few hours after Oakley.  She's a wonderful girl and you can definitely tell she had a great family and was really well taken care of.

Her and Oakley hit it off right away!  They had a great time playing in the yard.  She's also a great snuggler and Saturday night when daddy-o was up at the lake, we ALL got to snuggle with the momma... so I was keeping her legs warm and Oakley and Eva had her sandwiched on the couch! BOL!  SnuggleFestSlumberParty!

So, now... if you can count, that means there are 3 pitties in my house!  And there hasn't been one single scuffle... we eat together, play together, chew on bones together and snuggle together.  3 dogs who before Saturday had never known each other.  We can't wait to show them off and find them the best of best forever homes!  But, until then, I'm so glad to have some great friends to share the day with.

I know a lot of people have reservations about Pit Bulls... but, to those people I say, meet one.  Meet me.  Meet my foster siblings.  Allow yourself an open mind and the chance to make a great, loyal, loving friend.  Forget the breed name.  What's in a name anyway?  We're not bred to fight, we're bred to love.  Even if we're raised in awful conditions, we're still wired to love.  This is why so many successful adoptions have come from abused and rehibilated pitbulls.  We're lovers.  Give us the chance to love you.

Thank you again to everyone who participated.  This means the world to me.  My hope is that all of these Pitty Posts will reach some of those non pitty people.  I hope they read and understand all the great things about us.  Maybe we can change some minds and maybe, just maybe, we can change the world.

We'll be doing another blog later today with the emails I received from people without blogs!  Also, check out my pal, Deccy.  He's joining in on Pitty Post Day and what's even better, he's trying to fight the ban of "dangerous dogs" in the UK!  I shared my story on his blog today.  Oh, and one more thing... the momma will be taking over my blog tomorrow to do her Pitty Post Day post, so make sure you check back tomorrow!

Happy Pitty Post Day!

TOMORROW!

Please don't forget about tomorrow's Blogville Pitty Post Day!  I sure do home that you'll all join in.  I'm really looking forward to reading everything that everyone has to say!  I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday!

And, just WAIT until you read my post!  I have some great things to tell you about tomorrow... you're going to LOVE it!

Health Update

I try not to talk about my ouchies unless I have really good news or really bad news.

Well, folks... Since my last update almost a month ago, I'm STILL feelin' good!  I have my good days and my bad days, but the truth is... I'm feeling good.  And the REALLY good news?  I've been ouchie free for TWO WEEKS!!!  So, that means I get to decrease my prednisone again and see how I do on an even LOWER dose!  This puts me so much closer to being off the prednisone completely and hopefully be back to a 100% Corbin.  Also, hoping that once I'm off the prednisone, my heart will go back to being a normal size and working good and I won't have to be on my heart medications anymore!  I'm all sorts of excited that I'm gettin' all better... but we never did figure out what was wrong, so I guess we'll never know how long "all better" will last, but I'm hoping it's like... forever!
*I know I have some new followers, so I included some links above if you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about!

100% Corbin means BOAT TIME!!!

Also, don't forget about Pitty Post Day on Monday, June 4, 2012! It also happens to be my 3rd birthday, so it would mean SO much to me if all of my Blogville friends participated! Doggies, Kitties, aw heck, even squirrels can join in!

I'm giving away TWO of my birthday presents: One will go to a lucky winner out of everyone who helped spread the word, and the other will go to a lucky winner of EVERYONE who participates in Pitty Post Day!  I'M SO EXCITED!

Unfortunately, the momma said I can't be shipped out as the prize.
Sorry, Puddles ladies!

Thursday's Tell-all

This post is rated M (for Mango).

I read about the butt problems Puddles had over the weekend and decided maybe I'd tell you all about my... eh... private area problem that occurred this past weekend.
This view is missing a Corbin.
The momma and daddy-o went up to the lake this weekend and I stayed back with Heather and Emmett because it was super hot and my heart medications make it hard for me to deal with the heat.  Well, the momma missed me a super lot, so she decided she'd come home Sunday night for snuggles with the Corbin.  On her way home, her and Heather decided they'd treat themselves us to ice cream!  SCORE!
The Corbin LOOOOOVES ice cream.
(old picture bc mom didn't bring her camera on our ice cream adventure)
Emmett had never been out for ice cream before (WHAT?!), but I knew exactly what I was in for!  The line was quite long, so we waited patiently and got lots of pets and comments on how well behaved we were.  Well, that was until I got close to my ice cream!  I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself!  You see, the ice cream place we go to give you a milk bone at the top of your doggie cone!  YEA!  Awesomeness.

Ok, back on track.  So, we get our ice cream and we go sit to eat it.  I was all "nom nom nom ICE CREAM! nom nom nom."  Now... I'm a studly boy, as you all know, but I don't get... uh... excited easily.  But, something in that ice cream caused my inner manhood to get all sorts of happy!  While I was eating my ice cream, the momma got all embarrassed because I was showing everyone at the ice cream place what I was packin'.
"Mom. Put. The. Camera. AWAY"
One of the two times I've ever been photographed with my lip stick.
Can you blame me though?  Money Hunny was smokin'!
Most doggies get excited more often than me.  Like the Mango, he likes to show off his lip stick.  I'm a bit more conservative and have only shown it on few occasions and for short periods of time.  However, this time.... it wouldn't go away.  The momma thought I was just REALLY excited, but after about 30 minutes she started to get worried.

30 MINUTES!
I'm so ashamed.
What's a guy to do?  I was walkin' funny and everything and I couldn't get it to go away.  Right in front of my MOM!  Geez, the humiliation....  It was like that all the way home and the momma started to get all freaked out wondering what she should do to help me.  Ok, well that sounds gross... but she was thinking of non gross ways to help.  So, when we got home, she thought maybe it was just stuck... like maybe it had joined the party, but got dry and couldn't leave the party....

Ya know what she did?

She squirted my manhood with a squirt bottle!!!!!  Well, I guess it was better than throwing me in the tubby... I think she was mostly afraid that by lifting me into the tub -because I'd never go in willingly -she might touch the lipstick.

Anyway... it worked and the squirt bottle made my little dude shrink right back in where he belongs.
I can't believe I just told you about that....

And, in case you missed my post on Friday, here is all the information you're going to need!

A few months ago, I did a blog post titled "You call me a Pit Bull like it's a bad thing." I got a bunch of great responses from this post and it made me SO happy! My good buddy Pip commented that perhaps we could do a blog-wide Pitty Post day. This idea made my heart sing. Pit Bull Awareness Day isn't until October, and I was way too excited about this Pitty Post Day to wait until then!

So, what am I going to do about it?

Well, my birthday is June 4th. Because of my ouchies and my big heart, I can't play with my friends like I usually do for my birthday, so THIS year, I'm asking YOU to participate in the FIRST EVER Blogville Pitty Post Day! It would mean so much to me to see a lot of great positive pitty awareness going on the day I turn 3!

What are YOU going to do about it?

If you'd like to participate, on Monday, June 4th you'll do a positive post on your blog** about pitties (**If you don't have a blog and you'd still like to join in on the fun, you can email me your picture and a little write up and I'll feature you on my blog! Must be received by June 3rd). Now, you can come up with any idea that you would like. Here are a few in case you're drawing some blanks!
  • If you're a pitty, you can do a post about all the positive things you do for the breed or why you love being called a Pit Bull.
  • If you're not a pitty, you can post about why you'd WANT to be a Pit Bull!
  • You can blog about an adoptable Pit Bull in your area! And, if you're so inclined, maybe go visit that pitty in the shelter and give them some love and hope!
  • You can blog about your favorite Pit Bull friend, blog friend or real life friend!
  • You can blog about something positive that has happened in your area regarding Pit Bulls
  • You can blog about breed discrimination -if you're another breed that gets discriminated on, this might be right up your ally!
The list can go on and on! Whatever you think of, blog it on Monday, June 4th! Please email me at OhCuteCorbin(AT)gmail(DOT)com when your entry has posted. I will enter everyone's blog post into a drawing and pick ONE winner to win a super special prize for participating!

Now, go on.... get sharing!
