Wordless Wednesday #11

Good news & some not so good news... & Coffee with a Canine!

Good news?  Tessa arrived safely at my house at 6pm Saturday evening! 


Not-so-good news?  She didn't like me very much... so she went to stay with Heather and Emmett instead. She ended up being much smaller than we were expecting.  Mom was told she was about 50lbs and she ended up being about 25-30lbs.  So I think I scared her a little bit because I'm large and was very excited to meet her.  Plus, she had been bred a lot, so I don't think I was her favorite dog because I was a dude.  Emmett can be a little calmer than me, so after a few minutes, they got along well.  Mom went to spend some time with her last night because she's absolutely in love with her and said she's soooo timid and scared, but warmed up to my mom really quickly.  We're hoping to give her some time to adjust and maybe she can come stay at my house after all.  But we'll see.  Right now we're just concerned with her getting settled and adjusting and learning that life will be wonderful from now on. 

Then, I was going to have ANOTHER foster sister!  So I got really excited to meet her! They named her Evelyn after one of the teenage volunteers that helps out Homeward Bound every clinic.  She's really a wonderful kid and she loves me and gives me treats when she sees me, so I love her right back!  Mom and Heather went to pick her up from a vets office last night. 

Go figure.

She didn't like me either... she bit my cheek and I was really scared.  She also didn't like Emmett, which was a little weird, because EVERY dog loves Emmett.  But, it was what it was.  So she also stayed at Heathers house last night and she will be returning to the vets office this afternoon because mom doesn't have an open  foster home that doesn't have male dogs or doesn't have any dogs at all.  But she will still be listed as a guest dog on the Homeward Bound site and she will also be going to their clinics, so they will definitely help her find a wonderful furever home!  Mom said she really is a sweet sweet dog, but she just needs a LOT of help with interaction with male dogs.  Poor girl. 

Aside from all the rejection I got from the ladies this weekend, my friend, Miss. Jamie, came over to take my picture yesterday!!!  I won't show you them all today (well, there were over 800!).  But Emmett came over too, so there were some fun shots!  This is one of my favorites.

Finally Friday!

Since yesterday's post was full of fun and pictures, I'm going to keep this one pretty short!

After lots of thought... mom and I decided that Foster Sister Sassy's new start would begin with a new name... and we decided on Tessa!  Thanks to Mayzie for suggesting it... it really caught my momma as soon as she read it!  And, look at that face... We think she's a Tessa!!!  She began her journey to NY from TN this morning!  There will be 16 legs of this trip, so she will be changing cars 16 times.  Please keep her in your thoughts and pray for her safety moving from one car to another.  We know how scary it can be for her and her 2 traveling buddies, but there are some wonderful, loving people devoting their time to help her to our home!  We are so thankful that they volunteer their time traveling from pick up to drop off with these dogs.  Most legs of this trip are around 1 hour.  It's a very special group of people that help this "underground dog road" every time there is a need.  We are very excited to meet Tessa, although she will be staying with Emmett and Heather Saturday night because my mom will be ignoring me and dad and giving our attention to another dog pet sitting. 

No worries, Tessa... your luck has turned around!
I'll for sure, show you the ropes of being a happy,
spoiled, loved dog!  Can't wait to play with you!!!!
We will find you the most perfect furever home!

I will also be thinking of my dear lady, Puddles, and her family this weekend and I'll be praying for good news for her little girl!

Dillon's Gotcha Celebration!

I'm finally getting to post about what this weekend meant for a very good friend of mine, Dillon!  Well, I've actually never met him (YET!), but his mom is one of my favorite people ever!  And I owe my life to her and Heather for saving me.  So, here's the background.  When I was rescued from the Humane Society's euthanization list, Heather and Jen were the ones to come get me and walk me out of there!  Jen is also Levi's Aunt JenJen - which is how I met Levi and how Levi got started bloggin'!  Well, Jen's dog is Dillon, he doesn't have a blog, and he is also Levi's cousin... followin' me?


Well, this past weekend was Dillon's Gotcha Day!!! His mom follows my blog all the time, so she found a recipe for pupcakes from Anna's blog!  She made them for Dillon and he enjoyed them with Levi.  Dillon told her he wanted me and Emmett to join in the celebration, so they stopped by and dropped off two pupcakes for us!  Emmett came over Monday night and we enjoyed them!  And BOY did we ENJOY them!!!!  Then we enjoyed a LOT of playing! hehe

Ok... FINALLY! We're both sitting at the same time.
And waiting.... Ugh, I really HATE this waiting trick.

The next few minutes are a blur.... a blur of tastiness and delishiousness.  Here's what mom was able to capture on camera.  She really wished she used video instead! LOL

It all happened so fast... I was a bit blurry!

Ok, so sorry that was a little backwards...  but I'm sure you understand the method to my madness!!! hehe.  Mom and Heather did their Homeward Bound Dog Rescue stuff and Emmett and I played some more.  But this time, we played inside because it was cold and dark out!

Then it got late and Emmett and Heather had to go.  I had SO much fun celebating Dillon's Gotcha Day and playing with Emmett!  I can't wait until Dillon, Levi, Emmett and I can ALL play!  Maggie Mae, of course you can come too!!!  It'll be SO much fun!

I was so tired after Emmett left.... Mom had to drag me off the couch and into bed.  She said it was funny because I stumbled down the hallway like I was drunk! Guess she didn't see me and Emmett stealing her and Heather's beers!!!!!!
