Brutus: Adopted

I shared with you the news yesterday that foster sister Carly found her new forever home... but, the big news I didn't mention was that Brutus also met his forever dad at the adoption even on Saturday.  The momma was really hoping to find a reason not to let Brutus go to his new dad, but she couldn't... they seemed like a great match and the momma and daddy-o brought him to his new home yesterday.  Even dad really liked him, he tends to be super over-protective about where our fosters go.  Brute walked in like he owned the place and quickly made himself at home.

The house sure is quiet without him around and my floors aren't soaked with this slobber.  We miss the little fella... but we know he'll be so happy in his new home.  The momma planned on writing this post... about how hard it is to let go of a dog that you belong to.  Not that we don't belong to every foster, but Brutey was definitely different.  However, as upset as the momma was all weekend preparing to say goodbye, when the time came, she didn't shed a single tear.  We hope this is the final place for Brutus, but he knows, he's always welcome back at our home if the time should ever come.

Also, he's only about 15 minutes away from me, so I'm hoping we can see each other for playdates sometimes!

Good luck Brutey... We hope you always charm you way through the lives of everyone you meet, just like you did to ours.  We're glad we got to help you along your way, you're such a special fella. You'll always have a place in our hearts. We love ya, you big blue moose.

Oh, and even MORE news tomorrow...

  2. Congrats to Brutus and Carly for finding new furever homes!

That's one of the reasons I could never foster. I would fall in love with all of them way too easily and it would kill me to have to give them up.

  3. Very happy that Carly and Brutus are in their forever homes, but we certainly do understand how difficult it is to be a foster parent. Actually, my Mom is a foster failure over and over again. Result: there are 9 in my pack!

  4. That is wonderful news! Brutey is such a great dog and I'm glad he found some humans that know that! Keep us posted with any updates on him as he has also somehow wiggled his way into our hearts too. Great that he lives close enough to schedule some play dates! How cool is that??

  13. We're surprised that it took that long for Brutus' dad to find him. Sometimes humans are so slow.

We also think it's funny that your dad is so particular since you are his first dog....you've trained him well, Corbin.

  25. Well, we tearfully say congrats to Brutey. Golly, it is hard to see him go. I know your Mom will miss the drooly boy something fierce. But it is really good to know he feels comfortable in his new home already. Fingers crossed for play dates!
