Answers? Now, that depends on the question.

You won't BELIEVE the day I had yesterday.  First, it started out with some serious extra snuggles from the momma.  I was totally cool with that.  Then the momma got my leash and I was all excited for a car ride... but once I got into the car, I started thinking...
Where the heck are we going?
 Then we arrived...
AH!  What the heck are we doing here?!?!

But, the momma said we weren't here for an emergency... but this is where my Special Dr. is also.  Phew.  Last time I was here it was super scary and the lady took me away from my momma and took pictures of my insides!

So, the momma checked us in, and ladies kept saying "Oh, he's so handsome" Yes, ladies... that I am.  And they kept coming over and giving me good scratches and telling me I was so handsome and soft.  Yep.  That's what a Corbin is, handsome and soft.  So, then the momma and I went into a little room.
Hey, where'd the Corbin fan club go? Why can't they come in here?

Then I met the nice Vet Tech lady.  She asked the momma lots of questions... but then she left too.  And THEN.  All with in 3 seconds, someone said my name outside my room, knocked on the door and OPENED IT!  Well, of course I thought it was someone intruding.  So I barked and growled and showed my meanest Corbin face!  Well, turns out it was just Dr. Bishop, my special back ouchies doctor.  He was cool and got on the floor and let me lick his face and nibble on his ears.

But THEN... Mr. Nice Dr. Bishop Guy turned into Mr. Let Me Take The Corbin's Leash and Take Him Away From The Momma.
You're just going to let him take me?  No fighting?
Wtf.
So, the Dr. Dude took me and made me all sleepy.  He told me he was going to take some pictures of my internals.  Ok, guy... I liked you and all, but now we're getting a little personal and I don't quite know how I feel about that.  Then he said that the momma gave him the permissions and I didn't have a say.  Traitor.

Anyway... I took a nice long nap while the did my photo shoot.  Then I freaked out and tried to break free when I woke up, so they gave me some more booze sleepy medications until the momma and daddy-o showed up to bring me home.

So, you've been reading all of this and thinking "well, gee Corbin, cut to the chase!!! What's wrong with your back ouchies?!"

We still don't know.

Yep, the momma and daddy-o gave them peoples 3200 green papers and still no clue where my back ouchies are coming from.  Dr. Bishop also shaved a square of hair off my butt and took a sample to send out to test for meningitis, those results should be back today.  But, he says my spine looks A-OK, perfect even!  So, the momma is happy that at least it's nothing super super serious that would require the surgeries.  But, still worried bc what ever hurts, still hurts.
Missing butt hairs

So, we're going to see what the results come back for the meningitis - but Dr. Bishop says it's quite a shot in the dark, but something he sees often with young dogs with back pain.  If it does come back negative, we're going to try doing some chiropractic work now that we know it's nothing skeletal... or possibly acupuncture.  Not really sure what I'm in for with those two things, but daddy-o said something about sticking needles in me?!  wtf... although, my buddy Bart had it done, and he says it helped his pain.  So worth a shot, I guess!

Anyway... here's the recap if you didn't want to read through all that stuff...
-Momma's mean
-Dr. Bishop Dude is nice and gives me booze to make me sleepy and tells me I'm handsome
-MRI came back showing off my perfect spine
-Tested for meningitis, results today or Monday
-Leggies look okay, nothing super serious that would cause my ouchies (might not have mentioned that...)
-Acupuncture or Chiropractic work possibly to help my ouchies depending on meningitis results.
-Momma's bank account is just as ouchie as the Corbin!

So, I guess if you're asking how perfect the Corbin's spine is... you got your answer! But, if you're still asking why the Corbin's ouchie... Nope, no answer yet.
Glad to be snoozin' at home instead of at the VETs.

Still no answers.

What do you mean you're leaving me here?????

Corbin's momma here... just left Corbin at the Vet Specialists for an MRI. Hopefully we'll have some answers in a few hours. But we have the neurologist stumped. During his exam, of course, Corbin was showing no signs of pain. The only time he yelped was when Dr. Bishop (neurologist) examined a muscle that connects from the back to the leg, near the ACL. So, he took Corbin over to see the orthopedic, who found instability in both of his ACLs. Now, when we adopted Corbin we knew of a few pre-existing conditions. He had his hind right leg broken when he was 8 weeks old and has pins there. He also developed some ACL issues with his hind left leg while at the shelter. He was checked out by a specialist before he even met us, and Dr. Glennon (ACL specialist) said it was something he would most likely grow out of. For the most part, he hasn't had any issues. Once in a while he would yelp and hold his leg up while playing in the back yard, so we put him on Glycloflex and he's been fine ever since.

Anyway... After consulting with the orthopedic, Dr. Bishop discussed our options with me. We could do the MRI to rule out any back issue - although, he didn't believe it was a back problem. Or we could skip the MRI and do x-rays on his hind legs and try to figure out what's going on there. I was pretty uncomfortable making the decision, as I'm pretty sure something is going on in his back... so I called Dr. Mike (at home, God bless him!), and Dr. Mike talked to Dr. Bishop and also said from what he has seen in Corbin, he also believes it's something going on in his back. Dr. Mike has seen Corbin since he was still our foster dog -as I was worried about his leg issues before adopting him. So Mike knows everything there is to know about Corbin's history and would know if this was a leg issue.

Dr. Bishop did agree that a leg issue wouldn't be causing Corbin to hunch over in his back. So, I left him with the vets for the MRI of his back and neck, while he's under, we're also going to have x-rays of his legs done to see if there are any changes since the x-rays taken when he was 6 months.

The MRIs will take about 2.5 hours, plus an hour prepping before the MRI and time for him to come out of the anesthesia. So, I'll get a phone call when he's ready and we'll meet with Dr. Bishop to go over the MRI. Hopefully we'll get to the root of whatever is bothering him and get him all fixed up soon...

I'll try to update tonight after our appointment, but I might not get a chance to update until tomorrow morning... either way, I'll let you know!

Thanks for all of the support... it's been a really hard 2 months and we appreciate every single crossed paw, prayer and words of support!!!!!

Gettin' ready

Morning Snoozes...

Restin' up for my big appointment with the Special Dr tomorrow.  Hoping he can get me all fixed up because I seem to be getting worse by the day... My appointment is at 10am tomorrow, so I'll try my best to do a post to update everyone afterwards.

The momma, daddy-o and I really appreciate all your concern, prayers and support.  Tomorrow will be the 2 month mark of trying to figure out the mystery back ouchies.

Coming clean...

So, I've been posting like my normal self and I haven't given you updates on my ouchie back.  Mostly because until this past Friday, there wasn't much to update on.

However, Thursday was my last dose of the steroid... and Friday night I had some ouchies again.  So, momma called Dr. Mike and then called another doctor and made an appointment for this Thursday at 10am.  This doctor is a neurologist and he's supposed to be super awesome.

Anywho... didn't want to keep everyone in the dark.  So, that's where I'm at for the moment.  Hopefully this guy can get me all fixed up.  Momma is hoping he can get me all fixed up without doing surgery... but we'll see.

I think Momma is having an affair

So, here's the deal.  Usually, my dad gets up for work and the momma and I snuggle for an extra 30-45 minutes before the momma gets up to give me breakfast.
Momma snuggles.
WELL... lately, she has been getting up right after dad walks out the door.  Sneaky?  Yep.  I think so.  AND, no snuggles for the Corbin's.
Hey lady... I'm not done with the snuggles.
Instead of snuggles... the momma goes into the living room and moans and groans and there's a bunch of jumping and kicking and yelling.  Like, this dude yells at my mom "Do it harder!" and momma yells back "I'm coming Shaun!"
Who the heck is Sean?
I don't remember letting anyone in the house...
I think the momma is cheating on my dad me and I'm very much not happy about it.
What do you have that I don't have, dude?
Leave my momma alone.

Yesterday was a special day!

Now, I did a post that was supposed to be posted yesterday... but it didn't post and when I checked for it, it was gone.  So, blogger done gone and deleted my post.  Stupid blogger.

Anyway, hopefully this one doesn't go anywhere!

So, yesterday was a super special day!  It was my dad's birthday!  Now, I sure do love my dad a whole lot.  And I'm super happy that he loves me a whole lot back!  Could you imagine if he didn't love me from the start?  I wouldn't have become a foster failure!  But, who wouldn't love me?  Eh, I never feared, I had him from day 1!
He takes me swimming
Lets me beg and gives me table scraps no matter how
many times momma yells at him
He throws my ball
He has super comfy legs
He takes me cruisin'
He swims way over yonder (yep, I said yonder) to get my toy
when I let it float away.
We're two peas in a pod, me and my dad.
And I sneak him smooches whenever I can to show him
how much I love him!
Can't wait to see what adventures this year brings!
Happy Birthday dad!!!
Love,
Corbin.

I was tagged!!! .... like 87 years ago.

So, I was tagged by my great furiends, Ruby & Bart like 87 days ago.  Bc mom's been I've been a super slacker, I'm just getting around to posting it!

1. Describe yourself in 7 words:

Brown, silly, handsome, smart, crazy, energetic, loving
All of thee above!

2. What keeps you up at night?

Not much… but I do not like thunder, it wakes me up.
Zzzzzzz

3. Who would you like to be?

Like, forever? I’d like to be Corbin forever. But if I could be someone for a day, it would probably be Puddles. I know she’s a chick, but I’d like to find out what it’s like to be little, drink beer on a front porch (I don’t have one of those), talk to the PoPo about crazy neighbors, sit on the table and get my way/do whatever I want 100% of the time. Yep. I’d like to try out being Puddles.
Puddles, with 2 Ds
Although... she doesn't look like she's a double D to me...
4. What are you wearing right now?

My Absolutely Dangerous collar and my handsome good looks.
Look in the dictionary for "Handsome".... this face, right here.

5. What scares you?

Baths.
ugh.

6. What's the best and worst things about blogging?

I started my blog so I’d have a place to document my adventures and my pictures… never did I dream there was this whole community I’d become a part of! I’ve learned so much stuff and so has mom, we’ve made some great friends, participated in some awesome events and cried tears for our friends on the other side of the bridge. Every one has been so helpful and supportive of my recent back issue, and it’s just so great to have that. Words can’t describe, and those not involved just can’t understand! We’re so thankful for our bloggin’ community!
This picture doesn't really fit with the above question...
But, I look good... no?
7. What's the last website you visited?

Bart & Ruby so I could steal this  :-)
Perfect butt!

8. What's one thing that you'd change about yourself?

Why would anyone mess with perfection? HAHA but I think mom would like to change some of my behaviors.
I call it a work of art... she calls it destroying the couch.
Whatever.

9. Slankets? Yes or no...

Are they warm and snuggly? Then count me in!
1 Corbin Burrito, comin' right up!
10. Tell us something about the person who tagged you.

Ruby is the most beautiful rottie I have ever seen and I love her heart shaped butt! Bart is a cool dude and I could see him and I tearing up blog land some day. But all and all, they’re great friends and I love reading about their adventures. PS. Ruby & Bart, for some reason I can’t comment on your bloggy… but I’ve been following along with Ruby and her vet visits!
I hope you feel better, Ruby! I'm worried!
Now, I'm supposed to tag some peeps... but, to tell ya the truth, I waited soooooo long to do this and I forget who already did it... even though I read them all secretely hoping to be tagged! hehe.  Anywho... if you haven't gotten to do this super fun thing... TAG!  You're it.

No pictures? What?

So, one of the reasons I haven't been blogging much is because my stupid momma hasn't charged her camera to take pictures of my super handsome self.  Yep.  Camera is NOT broken... just a dead battery.  Really, mom?  Two seconds to plug that sucker in before you go to bed.

Old picture, with my old couch.  Same handsome face.

Wordless Wednesday: New Couch

Haven't even gotten the chance to tell you about my new couch!  Hopefully I'll be back to a normal bloggin' schedule soon... 2 more weeks left of treatment, then we find out how I'm doing.  I feel good, but the momma is afraid it's just the steroids... Time, time, time. Life has been pretty boring.

Just sittin' on the step of the deck...

Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watching the birds fly in
Then I watch them fly away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the step of the deck
Watchin' the wind blow away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the step of the deck
Wastin' time

Gots the snow!

Look at all this snow....
Are you sure I can't go out and play in it mom???
Pretty Please?
Are you sure that your final answer is no?

I did get to go outside a run a little bit in the snow... but I couldn't run and jump in it. Wasn't nearly as much fun.  My girls had a blast though.  Bright side? I didn't get too cold... and got some snuggle time with mom while the girls were frolicing in the snow.

Mom went over and played with the munchkin instead.
You all remember my cousin, Christopher?  He's getting BIG!!!!!
It was his first real snow storm!  He had a blast... again, I was left home to stare out the window.  Maybe we'll get a big snow storm in April that I'll be able to play in!  Yep, that's what I'm going to hope for.
