So, there has been a little detail that I have left out of my blog. I'm a big cousin! My mom's brother had a baby in July, his name is Christopher David Jr and he's super cute. Well, at least that's what mom and dad say. I haven't met him yet. Mom said something about my big paws and the fact that I'm large... and I think I'm small. And the fact that when I go to Grandma Lynda and Grandpaw Dave's, I run around like a crazy dog and never calm down. Anyway, I'll meet him someday...
So, why am I telling you about him now? Mom and I had been debating whether or not to mention him... mostly because this is MY blog and I haven't met him yet. But Christopher has
Craniosynostosis. This is a condition where he was born without a soft spot on his head for his skull to expand with his growing brain. He needs to have a very serious surgery next week. His special doctors will cut open his skull and insert a
dissolvable plate so that his brain can grow properly. The surgery will take about 5-7 hours and he will remain in ICU for a few days. Hopefully, he will be discharged from the hospital within a week of the surgery. So I will be asking all of you to keep him in your thoughts next week. His surgery is December 15th.
Anyway, now that the serious stuff is out of the way... Mom ignored me ALL weekend. She went to see Santa with Christopher on Saturday and also went to get pictures taken of Chirstopher on Sunday. I, however, got NO pictures taken by mom this weekend. Anyway... here's Christopher with Santa!
|
They both showed up in the same outfit! Christopher Jr will
also be in Mom's hometown newspaper for being a mini Santa! |
|
REMINGTON!? Is that you?! Shouldn't you be getting ready
for the Vikings game?! Now I'm really upset I got left behind! |
|
I guess playing Santa is a tough job! |
|
He is rather cute, I must admit. |
|
Mom tells him stories of me, he thinks I'm funny already! |
|
I can't wait to play ball with him when he's older! |
I also went to visit Emmett and Tessa last night as Moms attempt to make up for ditching me all weekend... But I guess I can tell you about that tomorrow!
Oh dear heavens...dude, you so know we will have little Christopher in our thoughts and prayers! My mum's cousin had brain surgery so we knows how hard and long da surgery will be.
