Vet visit!

Guess who's feeling quite a bit better today?

Me!

I gave the momma a real good scare yesterday, but I'm just about back to feeling myself this morning.  I went to see Dr. Mike last night, we're going to continue decreasing my prednisone until I'm off of it completely.  Hopefully we can figure out a way to manage my back pain without it, but I think it's doing my harm than good to my handsome Corbin Bod and my smart Corbin brain.

Dr. Mike was also pleased with how much the swelling in my toe went down after just a few days of the antiboitics.  Paws are crossed that the swelling continues to decrease so we can be sure it was just an infection and the momma can stop worrying about the possibility of another Corbin toe leaving me!

As for the seizures... well, it still remains a mystery.  Dr. Mike thinks it might have been caused by my quick change in medications.  But, we'll continue to track them if I get anymore and try to associate whether or not there are medication changes around when they occur.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes!  Doncha know the momma went and injured her toe today?  Trying to outdo the Corbin.... not good, momma!  Rest and relaxation ahead for this weekend and I'll post some fun things next week, sound good?

Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Mom Kim here to Corbin's mom - being the type that likes to share good stuff when I can and also having a dog (Shiloh) with Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD) and a missing disk, after recommendations from other Beagle owners who use this stuff and doing a little research on it myself, I would like to tell you about Duralactin (not sure if I have told you about it or not). I won't say it gets rid of the problem entirely - Shiloh still has a relapse - maybe once or twice a year HOWEVER they are much less painful to him and the episodes don't last as long and he doesn't look so pitiful. Shiloh has been on it for about 3 years and for a dog who is now 11, he acts remarkably agile - even going upstairs to sleep with me at nite - not on the bed but even going upstairs was something he would not do at all for several months. And no, any recommendation or talk I do about Duralactin - I don't get any kind of reimbursement for. I've talked about it on my blog - just do a search for Duralactin.

In the meantime Corbin, your mom needs a few extra cuddles/snuggles now while she gets better - I know you can handle that.

AND finally, Team Beaglebratz is doing a couple new things - we have set a goal of 1000 posts by the end of 2014 AND we are now accepting GUEST BLOGGERS - we are trying to do a guest post at least once a week - our first was posted TODAY!
ANYONE can be a guest blogger. We have also posted about this the past week.
Gotta get back to work now.

  9. I'm so happy to read that your toe is getting better. It sounds like you are heading to good health! Just a word to your mom - Based on my experiences with K's toe and then cancer, I would never hesitate to be "pushy" about making sure that everything is good with that paw. I feel very optimistic... but in retrospect, there are certain times when I wish that I'd been pushier for K, as events cascaded unexpectedly.

I hope that your toe (mom) is feeling as good as Corbin's!

  10. Such a relief that you're doing better! My boys used their power of the paws and I kept you in my prayers. I'm so glad you got adopted by someone who has the means and desire to make sure you're loved and cared for as much as you are. Unfortunately, not all pet owners would have gone to such lengths. Keep getting better, Corbin!

I hope your mama's toe heals up soon too!
