Why so Sirius?

Why so Sirius?

My best Joker face!

Although, this is no joking matter, folks.  I decided to blog about one of my very favoritest things today.

Collars.

But, not just any collars... my Sirius Republic collars. In that picture there you can see all 6 of my collars... which is excluding one new collar that I'll be debuting in just a few moments and a classic black nylon collar and new bowtie that I'm waiting to debut in a few months.  So, that there is 6 collars, 2 bow ties, 1 leash and one special, just-for-the Corbin tag.  Plus, two adopt me collars and two flower accessories for my foster sisters that are missing from this picture, as well as the new collar and bowtie.  The momma might have a Sirius obsession...

And, I sure don't mind being a Siriusly handsome model!

Now, here are some classic pictures of me in my handsome collars, because I like to show off and I'm going to make this a little suspenseful in debuting the newest member of my collar family.

This is me being handsome in my new Absolutely Dangerous collar.
I grew out of my first one, and Ms. Jen, being the fabulous Collar Making lady, went out and found the fabric again so I could have my handsome collar!
What would the Corbin be without his Absolutely Dangerous collar?!

Of course, my handsome "Corbin" collar!

And, 1 made-just-for-the-Corbin tag!
It has my name and the momma's contact info on the other side.

With all that Corbin goodness, you might want to hold onto your seat for some foster dog cuteness to show off the rest of our Sirius Supplies.

Like, the Brute sporting the bow tie at an adoption event!

Former foster Mia looks stunning in our first Adopt Me collar!

Our first foster sister collar flower accessory really highlights
Sopher's pink facial features!

And, the Snuggler likes to show off, so here she is again sporting our
newest foster sister collar flower accessory!

The momma also takes our accessories to adoption events and snaps
pictures of the Homeward Bound adoptables!
(we stole this awesome collage of photos from Sirius Republic's Facebook page!)

Now... Here's where we get Sirius.  What you've all been waiting for!  The newest addition to my collar family.

If you follow the link, you can even see my handsome face.

How about a side view?

Lookin' tough?

Lookin' tougher?

I've never had a nice, fancy leather collar before and my jaw dropped straight to the ground when the momma read me an email she received from Miss. Jen saying she wanted the Corbin to have this as a gift*.  Something so nice, for me?!  I was floored, and honored to be able to wear something so great!  Not only does this collar look totally rockin' against my furs, but it's so amazingly handmade with incredible attention to detail.  There's a awesome Celtic design that the momma got to pick out and a it's accented with beautiful handsome emerald jade green gem stones and silver spots.

I'm so happy in my new collar!

So, why should you head on over to Sirius Republic?  Well, for starters... I need help picking out a fabric for my next collar, so leave me a comment with your suggestions!

And.....
The ladies LOVE a fella with good taste.

*Although we received The Guinness as a gift, we were not asked to blog about it or promote the collar or the company.  We just love them to death and think every dog on the planet should be rockin' a Sirius Republic collar!

Foster Friday: Amelia Busy Bee!

I bet you've all gone and forgotten what my pretty face looks like because I haven't been able to blog in like.... forever!

Here I am!

I still haven't found my forever home yet, and foster lady insists that this home is not it.  I tell her that I think otherwise... then I snuggle up real good with her and I can see through her eyes that those wheels are turning!  I even overheard "the talk" with foster dude... but I'm not going to put all my eggs in that basket, because I know how many other pooches are out there just like me that need foster lady to save them, too.

Real close snuggles with foster lady.

I've been up to some really fun things these past few weeks!  I'd have lots more pictures to show you of my adventures, but the foster lady lost her camera charger because she's an unorganized bum she has a lot on her mind.

Likes my tutu?!

Bet you're wondering why I'm all decked out in my tutu, adopt me vest and adopt me collar, huh?  My friend Diggy Wiggles and I did a Bark for Life walk that raised money for cancer research!  I got all spiffied up so people would know that I'm looking for my forever home, and it worked!  Everyone loved me and gave me lots of attention.

Rub my belly, new friends!

I flopped on the ground for just about everyone I met and asked them for nice belly scratches!  I made people go squeeeeeee and giggle and ohhhhh and ahhh!  But, no one followed up and wanted to adopt me, which is okay.  I really just wanted the attentions!

I even met a big dog!!!

I actually really liked the big dog, this picture was just an awkward moment and I look scared, but I wasn't!  I even flopped on my belly for him and jumped in his lap.

Then the walk started!

All the people and doggies a head of us!

There were even MORE behind us and more at the head of the line beyond this picture!  It was a great turnout and I got so many compliments on how well I walked with foster lady!

Me walking all nice!

I just had the bestest time and really enjoyed meeting lots of people and lots of other doggies!  We even ran into some Homeward Bound Alumni's that the foster lady recognized!  They felt like celebri-dogs when the foster lady called out their names and was all excited.  Although, I think I was the real celebri-dog at every this event!

This is me and Diggy posing for many adoring fans.

Everyone wanted to take pictures of me and the Diggles.  I ended up in LOTS of pictures that were posted on the event site for Bark for Life!  Foster lady handed out lots of business cards in case anyone wanted to contact her further about me.  Her little cards have the bloggy address on it too, so maybe you're reading this because you met me that day!

HELLO!!!!

After my super busy, eventful day of being a Diva... I went home and snuggled with the Corbin.  He was kind of bummed that he didn't get to go, but foster lady made sure he had an outing of his own and he went for a walkie around the neighborhood with his back pack.  He loves that thing!

Snuggles.

So, if you are visiting the bloggie because you met me and you're on the fence about adopting me... Here are a few things you should know - and, if I'm not adopted this weekend, I'll elaborate next Friday!

Loves kissies and snuggles and hugs and tutus and pretty collars!

I like snuggles, couches, snuggles, underpants, belly scratches, snuggles, sleeping in the big bed, Corbin snuggles (but I'm sure you or another canine friend can replace him), walkies, dinner and breakfast, snuggles, car rides, tutus, fancy collars, snuggles, attention, belly rubs, kissies, and snuggles.

Later friends!
Amelia Honey Bee

Health Update!

A few weeks ago I went to visit Dr. Mike again for a check up and so he could see my handsome face.  As the momma was getting ready to leave, she heard an unsettling sound from the kitchen.  Do you know what that sound was???

ME!

I tried to get some goodies off the counter and knocked all of this stuff over.  I also knocked the garbage over and as the momma walked into the kitchen and put her shocked face on, I swallowed a lobster tail from dinner that I found in the garbage!!!  Swallowed it whole!  The WHOLE thing, donw my throat and into my belly!!  Lots of HBO words were said, but sure was worth it... until later in this story.  So, in the car we went to to vets.

But, momma, you forgot to give me MY lobster at dinner.
So, I had to find my own.  If you had been a good momma
in the first place and given me my own lobster...
this wouldn't have happened!

All my girlfriends were there and gave me lots of lovin's while I waited for Dr. Mike.  Then, do you know who's voice I heard?!  It was my Grandma Lynda!!!!  I heard her all the way down the hall and I went bonkers.  I was so excited.  She was there with Greta for her yearly check up.  I was so excited, did I say that?  So, Grandma Lynda and Greta hung out with me in the waiting room until it was time for Dr. Mike.  My girlfriends got a kick out of seeing me all lovey with my little doxie girl.

HEY!  I know that voice coming from the hallway!

Then it was time for Dr. Mike.  Now, when I saw Dr. Mike, I was down to 5mg of Prednisone once a day (started at 20mg twice a day), 2.5mg of my Vetmedin heart med once a day (started at 7.5mg twice a day), and 5mg of my Enacard heart med twice a day (hasn't changed).  Plus, twice daily I get Welactin fishy oils and Glycoflex to keep my legs feeling good.  Now, for those of you that don't know my history, you can catch up HERE when the momma did a recap of my ouchies, heart and meds.

Do you think Dr. Mike will come with good news?

Dr. Mike came in and said I looked great!  Handsome as ever!  He said my muscle tone was great, my weight was good (although, he agreed I needed more lobster! Ok, maybe he didn't say that, but it's my blog and I'm telling you that's what he said), and my coat looked good too.  Then, he listed to my heart and said it sounded really great and strong!  That's GOOD NEWS!  So, with my heart sounding good, he said we could stop my Vetmedin all together and follow up with a heart ultrasound on a few days.  He also said that my lobster tail should either come back up or pass through.

Uh, what does that mean..... pass through?

I went back and hung out with Dr. Mike and my girlfriend Jamie for a day last week to have my heart ultrasound done.  I was so super good, they didn't even have to give me sleepy medicine!  Dr. Mike said my heart looks GREAT!  All of my readings are back to normal, except for one that actually decreased in function just a tiny bit since last year.  He wasn't too worried, but wanted to keep me on my Enacard for a while longer before we started weaning that.

All and all, great news about my health!

The momma also told Dr. Mike that I've been walking with my back pack.  She kind of went all spazzy because she realized she started walking me with the  back pack before talking to Dr. Mike about it, but he said my back looks really strong and the muscles around my spine looked great and it's probably because of my back pack!  And, he was also really happy to hear that I'm totally back to my super crazy, energetic, mischievous self!

I also found out what Dr. Mike meant about my lobster tail passing through....
Not nearly as fun and enjoyable as swallowing it!

Where have I been?

I know I kind of skipped out of Blogville for a while without so much as a note telling you what I was up to!  I've had a busy few weeks and I can't wait to tell you all about it!  I went to see Dr. Mike and can't wait to update you on my overall health!  But, you'll have to wait for another day for that update.  This post is just going to show you why I've been so super busy!

You see, Heather went on vacation to a far away land called Hawaii Pineapple Land.  And, another one of the momma's rescue friends, Alida, went on vacation to a far away place South to visit Carolina or something.  So, that added up to 5 (FIVE) doggies!  The momma said that might be too much for our house, plus Alida's pooch, Charlie, is a fence jumper and could probably clear my chicken wire fence.  So, the momma stayed at Miss Alida's house with Charlie, Amelia and Heather's foster dog, Diggy Wiggles.

That's my Amelia (left), Charlie (top) and Diggy (right).

And this is me and Emmett, in case your forgot.
We got to hang out with the dad all week!

Then, Friday night, the dad went up to my lake, without me.  So, the momma came home and grabbed me and Emmett and brought us over to Miss. Alida's house with Amelia, Charlie and Diggy!  AND! This little dude named Wagger, who is also available for adoption, needed a place to crash overnight, so the momma said "Ah, what the heck.  What's one more?"  So, Wagger joined us too.

Now, believe it or not, this picture has every single one of us in it!  It's the best the momma could do.
Amelia's leg (top left), Diggy (bottom left), Me (bottom brown dog -I have my name on my collar!), Charlie (middle), Emmett (top brown dog with his head cut off), and that's Wagger (top right).
The momma needs a wider lens camera! BOL!

So, that was fun.  Saturday, Miss Alida came home, so back home I went, with Emmett, Amelia and Diggy!  And, it's been the 4 of us all week!

CHEESE!

Something else pretty cool happened last week.  On Monday night, the momma came home and one of my former foster kids came over for a play date.  While we were all playing, Emmett started squeeking something, so the momma was all like "why the heck would there be a squeeky toy outside?" and Emmett and I were all like "OMG SQUEEK SQUEEK SQUEEK!!!!"

Well, squeeky toy it was not... it was a real, live, squeeky baby BUNNY!

So, the momma got leashes on all of us doggies, and former foster sister's new momma (I'm being secretative because she's coming for a visit soon and I want to surprise you!) picked up the baby bunnies and put them back in their home.  Then the momma found a piece of fence and put that over their home so the momma bunny could get to them, but it would be harder for me and Emmett to get to them.  The momma did lots of bunny research and called wild life places and everything.  So, because she's super over crazy, she put some strings on the next so she could make sure the momma was coming to visit her babies - they only come at dawn and/or dusk.  The momma bunny came Monday night/Tuesday morning, and the momma was happy. She put the stings back because, like I said, she's super over crazy.  BUT, it's a good thing the momma is super over crazy, because there was a bunny in front of our house that got hit by a car :-(  Turns out, it was in fact momma bunny.

We found a rescuer to take in our baby bunnies and boxed them up and shipped them off to be cared for.  It's illegal in NY to care for wild life without proper licensing, plus, we don't really know what we're doing and they would be in better hands and have a better chance at survival.  So, off they went last Wednesday!  We heard yesterday that they're all still alive, doing well and getting big!

So, that's been my busy, crazy 2 weeks!  I'm going to need a nice, long nap when everyone goes home!

Wordless Wednesday: Missed the Corbin?

No worries, I'll be back soon with lots to tell and
no real excuse for my lack of blogging!
