Say Hello to Diamond!

Picture from NYC ACC Shelter
These are the pictures the momma saw on the faceybooks two
weeks ago. Under her picture was a plea
to save her from the NYC ACC shelter.
The picture was shared by the Gremlin page. Gremlin happens to live near the Corbin house and her family started the Mr. Mo Project last
year. The Mr. Mo Project saves senior
dogs from shelters across the country and they wanted to save Diamond. They were looking for a foster home around
the Albany area so Diamond could get the medical care she needed at their
vet. The momma just looked at her face
and couldn’t say no. So, the momma
emailed the Mr. Mo Project peoples and said Diamond could come to the Corbin
house.
When she arrived at the vet
Diamond was pulled from the shelter after her stray hold was
up and headed upstate last Monday. She
spent a week at the vet office to treat her numerous medical conditions. The momma and Gremlin’s parents went to visit
her often and last night she was finally able to leave the vet office and come
to the Corbin House.
Diamond is a little weary of the Corbin, but she doesn’t
mind Amelia. We did a very slow
introduction and kept things as low key as possible last night while she
settled in. Poor girl has had a lot of
changes in the past 2 weeks, from living on the streets, to staying at the
shelter, to staying at the vet office to coming to the Corbin house. And who knows what life she lived prior to
surviving on the streets.
Visiting on Friday
Diamond is currently being treated for kennel cough, mange,
a skin infection, ear infection, eye infection and allergies. She’s on lots of medications and gets a
medicated bath twice a week. She has at
least 1 mammary gland tumor that she will have removed on Friday, and since
they need to do that surgery, they will spay her as well. Diamond is about 10-12 years old and was
clearly breed many times. We don’t know
anything about her past, but glad her future can be bright.
Finally at the Corbin House.
Diamond is extremely friendly and loves every person she
meets. She loves naps and enjoys
walks. She’s just been at the Corbin
house for one night so far, so we’re learning all there is to know about
her. We are all very excited to be a
part of her journey and we can’t wait to continue sharing her progress with all
of you!
How cute is that face, though???
