Good news? Of course I have good news! Donnie and Duchess were both adopted on Saturday! Mom already heard an update on Donnie. He's doing great, loving his new ferret brother -Kissel, went on a hike and went swimming and was even invited to a cook out where he was the top star! Sure hope he received some noms for all that work! Duchess went to a great family with two young kids. They live near my Grandpawents, so maybe I'll get to see her again some day! She really really loved the kids and would sit in their lap and kiss their faces.
I have a new foster sister scheduled to come in this weekend. If she doesn't get adopted on Saturday when she arrives, I'll share her with you all on Monday! She sure is a
Bad news? Yea... I do have some of that. The Evil Seizure Monster made a visit to my Uncle Harley on Tuesday.
Uncle Harley is Grandma Lynda and Grandpaw Dave's 9 year old puggie and he has never had a seizure before. Mom met them at the emergency clinic near my house so they could check them out. I know the evil monster has visited some of my bloggin' friends like Mr. Mango and Mr. Fred. Thankfully, Harley has not had another one since Tuesday, but we know he's not in the "safe zone." Grandma Lynda was so scared -I could tell just by hearing her on the phone. I even tried to go with mom when she met them, but mom said I had to stay home. I know Uncle Harley would have been comforted with me there (even though he does beat me up sometimes). Anyway... Please cross your paws that Uncle Harley doesn't have any more seizures... if he has another one, they will have to do an MRI to see if they find anything in his Central Nervous System or a tumor on his brain or other scary things like that. I know Greta is taking good care of him since I can't be there.
So, it's been a crazy month so far. We completely ran out of time to finish our K9 Kamp challanges... I think mom was a little upset when I made her run around the neighborhood.
Sorry I haven't been around to visit, I'll try to make it to everyone today!
Oh No I am so sorry the seizure monster hit Uncle Harley. If they need anyone to talk with we are hear to lend our experience and a helping hand. We will keep our paws crossed. Its the scariest thing an owner can go through watching it and not being able to help. We send our love and prayers and please keep us updated.

That is awesome about the adoptions. You sure know how to find homes for the youngsters. I wish we could have a foster or two...
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, we hate to hear about Uncle Harley's seizures. That stinks! Please keep us informed. Praying for some random and singular cause instead of a tumor or something scary. Paws crossed.

We know all about that seizure monster. Most likely the vet said to wait and see what happens next. That is not easy to do. Tell the humans they might not want to do an MRI unless they agree to what treatment they would go with. We did not MRI Mango because we would not be doing chemo or brain surgery on the big old guy, so why put him through it? From what I have learned, most seizure dogs can control their seizures with medication, but you need to wait until there is a pattern of seizures to know if the medicine is working. Mango had 5 seizures in about 10 months and the last one was very bad and that's when we put him on medication. Good thoughts to Uncle Harley and his family.
ReplyDeleteMango Momma
so sorry about that dang seizure evil monster!!
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
That seizure monstah be skeery, that be fur sure! He hasn't visited any of us but he has visited a few of the fosters we has had and OMD, it do be skeery. So here is hoping that he stay away from Uncle Harley from now on.
ReplyDeleteHi Corbin, paws crossed here for your Uncle Harley that the blasted seizure monster disappears forever. Great news on Donnie and Duchess. Its lovely to hear about their new homes. Sounds like you are very busy so take care all. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteBefore I came to live with Mom and Dad, they had a Greyhound named Treat who had epilepsy. Mom learned a whole lot about seizures because of her. If your mom has questions, drop us a line and we'd be happy to answer if we can! I know it's scary, but it doesn't have to be the end of the world.
ReplyDeleteBunny
