Thinking Thursday

Meet Daisy.

Daisy is up for adoption at the rescue mom works with.  She's a 4 month old Cocker Spaniel (mix?) puppy.  Mom has a super soft spot for Cocker Spaniels, so the rescuers she works with down South know to grab them for her when they come in.  Daisy was no different... at least to the girls in the south.  Mom saw her picture and her heart sank... then she took her off the transport van and started crying... mom really loves this puppy.  She's staying with us for the week - along with Bethany and Avery.  Mom always said that if we were to ever get a second dog, it would have to be a little(er) dog.  She has also said she would not adopt a puppy with so many older dogs with less chance of adoption.  She also said black dogs are too hard to photograph (BOL, good excuse, mom).

I sure do get along well with Daisy... better than most fosters.  I'll actually leave her alone to chew a bone and I don't really hassle her 24/7.  She's pretty cool to have around and doesn't hang off of my jowls like Patches did!  She likes to play and run around and she hasn't had any accidents in the house.

After lots of thinking (and I mean, a LOT of thinking)... Mom decided it's best not to adopt Daisy.  We really enjoy fostering and a second dog might hinder our fostering efforts... we wouldn't have as much time to spend with our fosters.  Plus, I sure do like my house to myself every once in a while!

And, I think mom has realized how totally awesome I am.  Because, duh... I'm totally the perfect dog.

1 Whole Year of Bloggin'

Well everybody... one year ago I wrote my first blog!  Now, it was nothing fancy... no pictures or fun adventures.  It was just a simple post about the stuff I went through to get to my furever home.  Then I started getting the hang of it and meeting so many cool furiends... THAT'S when the fun began!  I was thinking about ways to celebrate my Blogoversary... and since I spent my allowance on dog bones I couldn't do a fun giveaway or contest... still a little dumb when it comes to photoshop, so big party was out of the question... then I decided I was just going to relive some of my awesome blogville adventures!

The first big event I attended was the wedding of Frankie, Ruby and Penny.  I wanted to make a good impression on my blogville furients, so I made sure to dress up!
Hello ladies, I'm Corbin.
I did a post on my home adventures when mom and dad were at work... like, finding the peanut butter jar
Woah, I swear I didn't do that...
I received my first ice cream cone
Nomnomnomnomnom
Got baths.
Cruel and unusual punishment.
I lost my Aunt Maggie a month after blogging... Mom and I were overwhelmed by the support that came from our new furiends.
She was a wonderful girl! We miss you, Maggie!
Momma was reunited with her horse after 3 years (totally had nothing to do with me, but she wasted 2 whole blog posts on it).
If Mom's happy... I'm happy!
I tried to be like the Mango in my first contest!
I have no shame.
I introduced you to my foster siblings... my first foster sister since I started my blog was Cranberry.  I know everyone enjoyed following her crazy antics while she was with me!  I had 3 foster sisters and 1 foster brother before I started blogging... I'll introduce you to them some day.
Cranberry, my Georgia foster love
I did a blog about why I blog.  What this blog means to me and what I hope some of my readers get out of it... the joy of rescue, adopting, fostering.  The positive pitbull.  It was a passionate post about the things I love and stand for.
I only had 82 followers then.  Read that blog HERE.
I was able to meet the beautiful Maggie Mae in the fur-life!  And I told you time and time again about my fun adventures with Maggie and our other furiends during playdates and social walks!
You're even prettier in person dog!
Fun walks with Maggie and Levi
I celebrated Halloween
Ribbit
I crossed my paws, prayed for my furiends and their familes, shed tears when furiends passed on and was unbelievably grateful when those crossed their paws for my Uncle Harley last Christmas, and my baby cousin Christopher during his cranial surgery.
Always thinking about my bloggin' furiends
Uncle Harley was able to come home for Christmas after pancreatitis!
Christopher's surgery went well and he was able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas!
And I know my furiends were crossin' paws for me when I had my crazy hives...
Ouch...
My icky eyeballs
And my ouchie "Happy Tail"

I introduced you all to Bethany, and everyone was glad when she was adopted within the family so you could have more Bethany updates!
Shhhh little girl... you're safe now.
I loved telling you about all the crazy adventures Emmett and I went on... we even met Santa!
Hey dude... I really like bully sticks.
You all met my foster sister Fancy, now known as Luna in her furever home

And rooted for me when I took my Canine Good Citizen's test!
You can now call me Corbin, CGC
And of course you remember my little doxie mix foster sister, Rockette... now known as Greta and I guess she's now my Aunt Greta since Grandma Lynda and Grandpaw Dave adopted her so Harley could have a sister :o)
Mom said I was getting a hot dog...
I had Canberra (not to be confused with Cranberry) as a foster sister for a few weeks... also during the time Emmett stayed for 10 whole days!
Emmett, Corbin, Canberra
I was in a kissing booth!
SMOOCHHHHH!
And everyone remembers foster sister Oreo, who came to my house in March!
Bark on the street is that she's doing well in her new home!
I got to go on a baseball field!

And everyone loved foster sister Patches!
Including my dad who wanted to adopt her!
And of course, I've shown everyone how awesome it is to swim in the lake!
Floatin' away again in Margartaville....
Sit back, relax.
PLAY FETCH!
But, more than anything... I've enjoyed reading the stories of all of my bloggin' furiends!  The parties and adventures we've gone on together and the fun and crazy stuff you all do on your own!

Thanks for those who have been her from the beginning, the middle, every where in between, and the new followers!  It's been a fun year!

So much stuff

So much going on and so much stuff to tell you, I don't know where to start!  I think I'll start with my trip to the lake this weekend, it was just a short one since the girls were at the house.  I finally got to go to the dog beach!  Usually we go out on the boat and there's no time left for the dog beach, but not THIS time!  I got to go!
I'm on the beach!!!
Here, Dad... throw my ball, please.
WAHOO!!!!!!!!
This is so cool...
Again, dad.
Cowabunga!!!!!!!!!!
Shake Shake Shake!
Sun tanned toes, tickling the sand....
So refreshing on a hot hot hot day!
Quite the workout!
Yes, ladies... I'm available.
Then I got to go to dinner.  Our neighbor Jen came with us too, it was super fun!
Uh, dad... can I have some of my sweet potato fries, please?
